Gillie revealed on the podcast that his son was killed by a teenager named Noah Scurry.

Spady, 25, was killed in a triple shooting in Olney in July 2023. Gunfire erupted on the 5800 block of Mascher Street, leaving Spady dead and two others injured. No arrests have been made in connection to the deadly incident.

Scurry, a 17 year old rapper and straight-A student-athlete Samuel Fels High School, was listed as a person of interest in the homicide of Spady, until he was gunned down on the way to school with his mother on January 15th, according to police.

Gillie was then notified by authorities.

“Only reason I knew [Scurry was the killer] is because the police called me and told me, once he was murdered.” Gillie explained.“That’s who killed my son,”

When asked about how he wants his son’s legacy to be remembered, Gillie spoke on taking this tragedy and using it as a learning lesson for the youth of Philadelphia as a call to action to get off the streets.

“I want the youth to understand how important life is and how fast your life can be taken from you.” Gillie explained. “These youngins don’t respect life because they ain’t got a chance to live life yet… I was struggling with my son, trying to get the f*** off the streets”

Gillie stressed the fact that street life is not all it is cracked up to be. It may be glitz and glamour in it’s ‘glory days’, but when the going gets tough, you find out really fast, who’s really in your corner.

“The streets ain’t beneficial to you, the streets don’t love nobody… if you could show me — ten successful street [guys], I can show you nine [guys] that’s gonna tell… so all of this [stuff] is a myth.” Gillie said.
