In Chester County an investigation is underway after a school bus was hit by a gunshot.

A bus driver was transporting high school students when a bullet went through the windshield. According to the Coatesville School District, the gunfire rang out around 2:30 pm at the corner of Hope Avenue and Madison Street. No one on the bus was hit and no injuries were reported.

The bus company, Krapf School Bus, told reporters the driver called dispatch who then called the police. The driver than traveled about two miles away for parents to be reunited with their children.

For safety precaution reasons, the schools football game was canceled that night. The police have not released any information about the shooter or the motive for the shooting. Anyone with this information is asked to call the Coatesville City Police Department at 610-384-2300.
