Sam Smith promises his music will always be sad despite being in love

Sam Smith has a style and he’s sticking to it.
ET caught up with the 25-year-old singer on the red carpet at the GRAMMYs in New York City on Sunday, where he gushed about being in love. The four-time GRAMMY winner clearly couldn’t be happier in his relationship with Flynn, but not happy enough to write happy songs.
“It’s good. Everything is really good. I’m in a really good place right now and just excited for the future,” he beamed, revealing that while Flynn didn’t walk the red carpet with him, he was “chilling in the back room [for] support” ahead of Smith’s performance.
