Instagram Restricts Use Of The Sandra Bland Hashtag To Prevent Hate Speech

Instagram Changes Terms Of Service, Stirs Anger Among Users

Instagram users were frustrated to find that posts tagged #SandraBland weren’t appearing in the haghtag’s gallery page, a hashtag that has garnered over 246,000 entries. Users criticized the social media company, concerned that their entries were being censored. Instagram, however, has been explaining that people started using the hashtag to promote racist, violent and threatening content and needed to sort through posts that violated its community guidelines. The hashtag was restored following a 24-hour block yesterday at approximately 10 am PCT. Read more at the Huffington Post.

It’s a grim day at Teachers College Community School in West Harlem today. It’s been disclosed to the parents that the school’s principal, Jeanene Worrell-Breeden, jumped to her death on subway tracks after someone disclosed to the NYC Department of Education that she had been changing Common Core test scores of her students. Worrell-Breeden commit suicide back in April, only 24 hours after the tip was made. She was transported to a local hospital after making the jump and succumbed eight days later to her injuries. Revenge? New York Magazine’s Website Gets Shut Down After Feature Story On Bill Cosby Rape Scandal

New York Magazine’s website is finally back up after it was hacked immediately following its infamous cover showing 35 of the women who have been accusing Comedian Bill Cosby of rape. According to Fishbowl, a twitter user named @Vikingdom2016 is claiming responsibility for the attack. He says that he issued a Denial of Service against the magazine because he claims an African American tried to prank him with a fake gun within his first hours of visiting New York two months ago.
